Four shapes of custom web app. Pick the one the business needs. We build all four.

01

Analytics dashboards, admin consoles, reporting surfaces. Real data, role-based access, exports that print. Designed for the people who run the platform.

From first call to production.

Four phases. Two-week sprints. No hand-offs between design and build. Working software you can click every fortnight.

01

Brief

First call. Tell us the platform. We'll tell you what's possible. And what's better.

02

Spec

We map the screens, the data, and the systems. The blueprint settles before the first line of code.

03

Build

Design and engineering happen together, not in handoff. Two-week sprints. Working software you can click every fortnight.

04

Ship

Production-grade. Cloud-native. Handed off with the tuning knobs. Thirty days of optimization included.

Investment, timeline, and scope at a glance. The brief call settles the rest.

Questions we get asked.

Common questions. If yours isn't here, email us.

  • What is web app development?

Web app development is the engineering of production web platforms in code. Not page builders, not template themes. The output is a system with a data model, authentication, access controls, and a tested deployment pipeline. Typical examples include dashboards, internal tools, design systems, member portals, and headless commerce storefronts. &7 is a Singapore web app development studio building on Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript strict, and Tailwind 4. Every build ships with auth, observability, and structured logging.

  • Are you based in Singapore? Do you work with overseas clients?

Yes to both. &7 is a Singapore-based web app development studio. We work with founders, brands, and agencies in Singapore, Southeast Asia, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Async-first delivery, two-week sprints, working software every fortnight. Time zones are not a blocker. For Singapore-based clients, in-person workshops at our studio are part of the engagement.

  • What's the difference between a website and a web app?

A website is mostly content. Pages, images, copy, the occasional form. A web app is a system. It holds state per user, persists data, enforces permissions, integrates with other services, and runs business logic in real time. Examples of web apps include a customer dashboard, an internal admin tool, a headless storefront, and a member portal. If the page changes based on who is logged in, it is a web app, not a website.

  • When should a business build a custom web app instead of using SaaS?

Build custom when the workflow is the differentiator. If the business runs on logic, permissions, or integrations that no SaaS tool models cleanly. Build custom when SaaS pricing scales faster than the value, typically past 50 seats. Build custom when data ownership matters. Use SaaS when the workflow is standard and the business case is speed. &7 helps clients pick during the brief call, including saying no when SaaS is the right answer.

  • What's the difference between Starter, Application, and Platform?

Starter ($10–20k, 4–6 weeks) is a scaffolded full-stack app with auth, database, two to four core screens, and a lightweight admin. Built for pilots, MVPs, and internal v1s. Application ($35k+, 12–20 weeks) is the full production platform with roles, payments, observability, and a real admin dashboard. Platform ($60k+, 20–40 weeks) adds multi-tenant architecture, SSO, advanced integrations, and ongoing revisions. We help you pick during the brief call.

  • How long does a web application take?

Timelines depend on scope and include buffer for revisions. Starter apps run 4–6 weeks, full applications 12–20 weeks (3–5 months), platforms 20–40+ weeks. Two-week sprints, working software every fortnight. Discovery, design, build, test, ship, optimize.

  • What stack do you build on?

Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind. PostgreSQL or Supabase for data. Auth via Clerk, Auth.js, or custom. Hosting on Vercel by default, AWS or Cloudflare when the workload demands it. Always production-grade. No tutorial code.

  • Will it work on mobile and pass accessibility?

Yes. Mobile-first responsive design. Keyboard navigation, focus management, WCAG AA contrast on every surface. We respect prefers-reduced-motion. Tested on real devices before the build leaves our hands.

  • Do you provide ongoing support?

Thirty days of optimization ships with every build. Beyond that, we offer monthly support retainers covering monitoring, performance, feature work, and on-call response. Or hand the codebase to your team with a documented architecture and a session of pairing.

  • Can you take over an existing application?

Yes. We audit the codebase, scope a stabilization or modernization track, and quote it as a project. Common starting points are migration to a current Next.js, performance work, design system extraction, or replacing a legacy backend.

Send the platform shape, the launch window, and what the system needs to do. A spec and a number come back inside a week. From our studio in Singapore, for clients worldwide.
